People no longer trust to a liar, because the lies are often told before. Consequently, the truth which he said once, would be considered a lie as well.
# He had often tell lies to the villagers. one night. after the heavy rain all day long, he saw that the water level overflowed and the dam broke. he shouted to them that a flood threatened their village. but they didn't beleive him anymore. it was like the proverb, " a liar is not beleived when he speak the truth."
# Once lied to, especially if people often lie, it will not trust you anymore
